A Word From Frank Miler
After an evening of story telling among friends someone suggested I should write a book! It was good for another
laugh at a very fun gathering. I thought the others had better stories than mine and their lives were much more interesting than mine. It must be a natural feeling that your own life was more routine than adventurous. Funny thing, it got me thinking, if I did write a book what would I write about? I started reading biographies and auto biographies. MacArthur, Truman, Thatcher, and other well known famous people. Nothing famous in my personal life. Then I read “A Man Learns” by Donald M. Hall. As Mr. Hall notes on the title page “Mostly True Memories and Musings.” This gave me a new perspective about the “book” idea. My impression of Mr. Hall’s book was the simplicity of the style and the truth of the text. My idea was to write about a time in my life that had no down side. This took a lot of inventory of the events of my life that I considered seminal. Most of the telling inventory was full of downsides and I knew my story would require no small amount of work to find the no down side period. The actual work was not at all that daunting. My story would be about a magical time in a magical place!
A Magical Time, in a Magical Place!
